E15 on a Bosch dishwasher, whether an 800 Series SHPM88 or a Benchmark, is the AquaStop leak protection doing its job: water has reached the base pan and lifted the float, so the machine cut the supply and logged E15. It is a safeguard against a leak reaching your floor, not a control failure.
Every Bosch has a shallow base pan with a float switch. When water escapes the tub, from a worn door seal, a loose hose clamp, or a spray-arm seal, it pools in the pan and raises the float, which closes the water valve and trips E15. The code stays until the pan is dry and the source is fixed.
We locate the leak, dry the base, and reset the float. On these Bosch units the usual culprits are the door gasket and the hose connections at the pump. We fix the source, because a base pan that refills will trip E15 again the moment you restart the cycle.

- Tip the machine gently to drain the base pan if it is safe.
- Inspect the door seal and the area under the machine for water.
- Do not restart the cycle until the base is dry.
- Note whether the water appears during fill or wash.
